Ms. Phyllis Diane Thomas was born on November 28, 1962, to Bernadine Dew and Julius Thomas in Saint Louis County, Missouri.
Phyllis was educated in the Ferguson-Florissant School District. Prompted to mature early in life, she had a natural inclination to help others. Phyllis went on to pursue in-home healthcare nursing. She dedicated many years to being a care giver for many, where she was admired for her practical work ethic, compassion, and leadership. She found joy in cherishing time spent with family, especially her great grandchildren, cooking, listening to music, and “telling you like it is!” Phyllis was also known for her “assertive kindness,” strength, generosity, faith, humor and her deep love for her loved ones.
Ms. Phyllis D. Thomas, 63, of Saint Louis, MO, departed peacefully on December 26, 2025, in Dallas, Texas surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by Henrietta Jackson (grandmother), Bernadine Dew (mother), Julius Thomas (father), Kathy C. Bryant (sister), Jalisha N. Thomas (niece), Michael A. Harris Sr. (life partner), Janet L. Wilburn (cousin), Lorraine Crawford (auntie) and two bonus mothers Alma Harris and Classie Stokes.
Ms. Phyllis leaves cherished memories, Children: Latasha N. McAllister (John McAllister), Laquisha V. Thomas (Quentin Bland), Antonio M. Parott (Dr. Moynica Parott), Michael A. Harris Jr. (Keelyn Whiteside) and John Harris (Bonus Son). Grandchildren: Jerrisha Thomas, Nadia Trust, Darrell Trust, Daevon Trust (Ashley Trust), Jordan Thomas, Ahmon West, Brooke Thomas, Tristin Bland and Kee’lani Harris and 6 Great-Grandchildren. Siblings: Charles Mitchell, Julius “Buddy” Thomas, Christopher Dew, Nicole Van Hook (Bonus Sister), Gay Parks (Best Friend/Sister) and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
