Phyllis Van Der Wal's Obituary
VAN DER WAL, PHYLLIS ANN Born on September 4, 1921 in Antigo, Wisconsin and passed away on February 2, 2007 in Mount Vernon, Texas.She was the valedictorian of Cedar Grove (WI) High School, 1939 and worked as a grocery clerk in her father’s store in Cedar Grove, WI. She attended Central College, Pella, Iowa, for 2 years, majored in Music. She married Elmer Arnold Van Der Wal, April 14, 1943, in Cedar Grove, Sheboygan Co., WI and moved to Cedar Rapids, IA, in 1951, and moved to Richardson, TX, in 1959. She volunteered as a ‘pink lady’ at Richardson Hospital,and after the children were in school, worked in the Richardson (TX) elementary school cafeteria, and then in Richardson Memorial Hospital cafeteria. She was a member of First Methodist Church, Mt. Vernon, TX. She is preceded in death by: her parents; twin brother, Phillip and brother-in-law Eugene Wissink. She is survived by, sisters, Bonnie Wissink, Wisconsin, Ruth Bruggink and husband Bob Bruggink, Illinois, sister-in-law, Hazel Van De Wall, Wisconsin; children, Eugene Lee Van Der Wal, Austin, TX, Joyce Ann Stone and husband Hugh, Scroggins, TX, Shirley June and husband Norm Sisk, Denton, TX, David Jay Van Der Wal and wife Connie Nelson, New York City; five grandchildren, Linda Odom, Kansas, Daniel Reeves, McKinney, TX, Norm Sisk, Jr., Sanger, TX, Cody Sisk, Garland, TX, Trevor Sisk, Lewisville, TX; six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Febraury 5,2007 at Restland Wildwood Chapel. Services will follow at 12:30 p.m. Monday, Febraury 5,2007 at Restland Wildwood Chapel.
