Phyllis Ann Kimbrell's Obituary
Phyllis Bryant Kimbrell lost her battle with cancer Sunday, March 19th, 2017, surrounded by her loved ones, at the age of 78. She was an extraordinary wife, grandmother, sister, and friend to all she loved. She is survived by grandchildren, Brittani Mathis and Hunter Evans, step-daughter, Krista Kimbrell, sister-in-law, Sylvia Bryant, nieces and nephews, Chuck and Lainie Bryant, Chris and Laura Holland and adored poodle Duke. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth Kimbrell, step-son, Kevin Kip Kimbrell, father, Paul Bryant, mother, Louise Bryant, and brother, Mack Bryant. Phyllis was always the lady who would brighten your day. She was the quintessential southern hostess that believed in spreading love through smiles and a home cooked meal. A proud member of the Charm Bracelet Gang from Waxahachie High School, she wore her green and white proudly. Phyllis spent her career with DeGolyer MacNaughton in Dallas before retiring to the Chandler’s Landing community in Rockwall, where her and Ken enjoyed their neighbors, the YMCA and gardening. Winning garden of the month club two separate times were some of her proudest moments in her later years. Phyllis gave greatly to her loved ones and will be forever missed. Funeral service will be held Thursday, March 23, 2017 at 3:00 PM in the Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made in her name to the National Park Foundation, donate.nationalparks.org.
