Phyllis Louise Day's Obituary
DAY, PHYLLIS LOUISE age 88, of Garland Texas passed away on Monday, March 3, 2014 at Muskogee, Oklahoma. She was born January 22, 1926 in Winters, Texas to her parents, Horace and Hilda Barrier Hollon. Phyllis was the oldest of 4 daughters. She married Von Weir Day in Cooper, Texas October 21, 1945. They had 2 children. She graduated from Klondike High School in 1943 as valedictorian of her class. She was a former resident of Garland, Texas for 51 years. She was employed by Dunn and Bradstreet, Dearborn Stove and retired from Texas Instruments. Phyllis was a member of the Saturn Road Church of Christ. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, classical music and her grandchildren. Phyllis will always be remembered by her loving children, Trish Pfeifer and husband, Derek of Ft. Gibson, Oklahoma, Michael Day and wife, Stephanie of Franklin, Tennessee. She is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Bret Pfeifer and wife, Heather of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Kendall Pfeifer Bowles and husband, Alex of Dallas, Texas and Nathan Day of Franklin, Tennessee. 3 great -grandchildren, Claire, Eva and Harrision Pfeifer of Tulsa, Oklahoma; a sister, Wanda Cook of Tyler, Texas and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased in death by husband, Von Weir Day of Garland, Texas; sisters, Pat Wolf of Decatur, Texas and Elaine Stubbs of Dallas, Texas. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, March 7, 2014 at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be held Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 12:00 PM at Saturn Road Church of Christ, 3030 Saturn Road, Garland, Texas.
