Phyllis Jean "MOM" Weaver's Obituary
To all the Brothers of the Viet Nam Vets/ Legacy Vets M/C she was known as “MOM”. Mom was born in her Grandmother’s house on April 7, 1921 in Warren, Ohio. She was the second daughter of Ed and Florence Harden. The family moved around a lot until they settled in Dallas, TX. There she met, fell in love and married Earl R. Weaver on October 4, 1941. She gave birth to her only child (Earl R. Weaver Jr.) on October 12, 1942. After her husband returned from WW 2, they settled in Oak Cliff (Dallas). Mom was the most wonderful woman you could ever meet. She always had a smile on her face. She loved everyone and everyone that met her loved her too. She loved to go fishing with her sister (Martha Dean) and enjoyed her nieces and nephews, Phyllis Ann, Larry, Frances, Shirley and Gary. But most of all, she was head over heels in love with John Wayne. She made the comment that he was the only man that could put his boots under her bed. Mom was the best mother a son could ever have. She always worried about him. When he joined the Navy and went on Submarines – She Worried – When he became a Navy Salvage Diver – She Worried – When he became a police officer in San Diego – She Worried – When he joined the Viet Nam Vets/Legacy Vets Motorcycle Club – She Worried. I am sure she is watching over him worried right now. Mom will live forever in the hearts of everyone she met and she leaves a legacy of “The Sweetest Person On This Planet” !! Mom is survived by her son Earl R. Weaver Jr., daughter-in-law, Becky Jo Weaver, grandchildren, Kristine Weaver Bryant , Sam Carey, Leisha Carey, Kimberly Semon, great-grandchildren, Justin Coats, Amanda Coats, Curtis Carey and Kyle Carey. Visitation will be Friday, March 25, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in Restland Wildwood Chapel.
