I met P.J. when we were both in graduate school at UTD in the early 1990s, we shared a few classes. He was a real character, very bright and funny. I don't have many people I remember from that program but P.J. was definitely someone you remembered. He seemed like a gifted guy who could do anything he set his mind to doing. Condolences to his family and may he rest in peace.
So sad to hear about Dr. Chandler's passing. I was fortunate to work at his practice 20 years ago. It was a special place that felt like family. I learned a lot from him and still use some of those lessons to this day. I always tell people he was the most intelligent, innovative and witty person I have ever known. Prayers to his family. I am so very, very sorry to learn of the loss of Dr. Chandler. I knew Dr. Chandler when he was serving a Plastic Surgery rotation at Baylor Medical Center, Dallas. He was a very, very talented surgeon and loved working with people. He was always such a kind and gentle person and we in Dr. Dean Kipp's office thoroughly appreciated him, and knew he would be a great to the medical profession. My wife, Marlene, and I thought the world of P.J. He was not only a gifted surgeon who was always willing to take time out of his busy schedule to sit and talk to friends and patients alike, but one of a handful of fellow surgeons whose "somewhat off color" sense of humor in the operating room put mine to shame. He could pull off the most potentially suggestive of double meanings with class and aplomb. We will miss the insight of his striking intelligence, his wit, and his ready laugh. RIP, P.J. We are so very sorry to hear about the passing of 'Dr. Jim'. We have shared many experiences with him over the years, since moving next door to Jim and Louise in Virginia in 1969.
