Darrell was mama's favorite nephew—maybe because of that big smile he put on that would light a room—maybe because he would always make her laugh and plant a kiss on her cheek. Anyway, Darrell was special to all of us on the Brite side of the family. Bert, my love goes out to you and to each of my family. Darrell was much loved and revered by his younger cousins. Darrell was a great man and will be sorely missed. He was like another grandfather to me. He was always smiling and ready to provide encouragement and support. The love he showed for this family was an inspiration. They just don't make men like that any more.
