Rachel Emily Ray's Obituary
Rachel was born in McKinney, Texas on January 24, 1920 to James and Emily Willis. She was the 5th of 8 children. She graduated from Prosper High School and attended TWU in Denton. She became a registered nurse and worked for The Dallas County Health Department. She married the love of her life, Harold Ray, on January 11, 1945 in Prosper, Texas. After retiring, Rachel and Harold moved to Richardson and she went to work for her cousin Jack Jeanes who owned Indust-Ri-Chem Lab. Rachel passed away peacefully on February 2, 2009 in Arlington, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers, James, Robert, Sidney, J.E., Edgar Ray; sisters, Mary and Faye; sisters-in-law, Dottie, Loretta and Ruth Elaine. She is survived by sisters-in-law, Belle, Martha, Lou; and brothers-in-law, John Dale and Lyle. She is survived by many nieces and nephews that she considered her children. She was a member of The First Baptist Church of Richardson where she was a member of Smile Stitchers and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Visitation will be from 5-7pm, Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at Restland Funeral Home. Memorial service will be held at 3:30pm, Thursday, February 5, 2009 at Restland Memorial Chapel.
