Ralph Seymour Marston's Obituary
Ralph went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, August 15, 2017. Ralph lost his parents at an early age and lived with his grandparents at age eight, then with an uncle who was a Baptist minister of music for five years and then with a foster family, the Bill Hannah family in Clinton, Mississippi for four years. This was a wonderful time and Ralph bonded with his foster brother, Bob Hannah. They played every sports Clinton High School offered: football, basketball, and track, with each team winning championships. He attended Mississippi College and then the University of Mississippi, where he met his wife Meredith. Ralph served in the Air Force as an enlisted person, then as an officer. His working career included two years with Westinghouse Commercial Atomic Division, six years with Texas Instruments Semiconductor Division, and more than 30 years with his own manufacturer’s representative company. He loved First Baptist Church Richardson. He joined in 1959 and has served as Deacon, Finance Committee member, Sunday School Teacher, and Activity Center Manager for over 10 years. Ralph and Meredith loved to travel with friends and visited over 55 countries on six continents. The only continent not visited was Antarctica and they were very close to it when they went around Cape Horn. They particularly enjoyed three cruises with their entire family. There were two rules: no complaining and show up for six o’clock dinner. Ralph was a people person and will be missed by his family and friends. Ralph is survived by his wife of 63 years, Meredith, his foster brother Bob Hannah and foster sister Dorothy Kitchings, his son Ralph Marston, Jr. and wife Karen of Austin, his son Walt Marston and wife Nancy of Dallas, five grandchildren, Calvin Marston of Austin, Carson Marston and his wife Amberly of Dallas, Angela Segreto and her husband Brad of Houston, Carly Marston of Dallas, and Kimberlin Marston of Austin, as well as one great-grandchild, Cameron Marston of Dallas. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Richardson. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75243.
