Ralph Williamson "Bo" McCann Jr's Obituary
Ralph Williamson “Bo” McCann Jr. went to be with his Lord on March 30, 2022.
Bo was born on August 1, 1932, in Dallas, Texas, to Ralph and Thelma McCann. He is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Bobbie Barclay McCann; sons Charlie Barclay McCann, Ralph Williamson McCann III, and infant son. His sister Joanna Heard also precedes him in death.
Bo graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1950 and Baylor University in 1954. He was employed as a reporter for Dun & Bradstreet in Houston and later for Continental Battery Company in Dallas, retiring in 1997 as president. He served in the U.S. Air Force until he was discharged in 1957, ranking as a captain.
Bo is survived by his grandson Ralph “Will” McCann and his wife (Stephanie); granddaughter Kelsey Doolen and her husband (Joel); granddaughters Mary McCann, Melanie McCann, Christie Smith; and five great-grandsons: Caden, Carson, Keaton and Cody Smith, and Jimmy Doolen.
Bo was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Richardson and Morgan Bible Class. He served as a long-time treasurer of the Suicide Crisis Center in Dallas, as well as, as a board member of the Life Savers Foundation. His other active interests were The Irvet Seminary at Baylor University and the Gideon Society.
Bo enjoyed golfing at Bent Tree Country Club for over 40 years and spent a lifetime riding Harley-Davidsons coast to coast. He also went on fishing adventures all over the world and was a significant supporter of The Freshwater Fisheries Center in Athens, Texas.
Bo was a good teller of tales and never forgot a joke. His happy retirement years were spent at The Tradition Prestonwood.
