Ralyn Stuart Rossi's Obituary
Ralyn Stuart Rossi passed away on April 20th, 2024 after a long and graceful battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was surrounded by love in her final hours with her caregiver and hospice team by her side at her home in Riverside Memory Care in Fort Worth, Texas. Ralyn was a ray of sunshine, witty humor, and spunk to all who loved her. She was born on August 6th, 1954 in Wilmington, Delaware to Jaqueline Foxwell and Ramon “Ray” Sortakopolis (later changed to Stuart). She was proud of her Greek, Danish and English ancestry and enjoyed her afternoon tea, garden lunches, and convertible rides with her friends Erin and Betty over the years.
She was raised in Daytona Beach, Florida and enjoyed spending time with her sister and friends at the beach or listening to the 24-hrs of Daytona races up the road from their house. Her greatest joy in life was being a mother to her three sons, Bruce, Herb and Matthew Rossi. In the 1970’s she moved to Dallas, Texas to study religion at Christ of the Nations for a few semesters but stopped her studies to raise her three boys. Throughout her time as a single-mother, she worked many jobs and put herself through classes to become a pharmacy tech and optician. She was a humble, kind, and pure hearted servant of Jesus always loving thy neighbor.
She loved traveling to Colorado with her sons and after they grew up, she moved to Colorado for a few years to experience the fresh mountain air and snow. In 2020, she was thrilled to travel with her friend Erin and family back to Colorado for a week to retrace her memories there. She created new memories with her friends despite battling Alzheimer’s. During her final years she never lost her gentle, kind, and generous personality often sharing her comfort items and clothes with her fellow memory care residents. Even when her memory failed, she never lost her generosity and kindness. Her sense of humor and emotional connection with her loved ones was strong until her last breath. Ralyn lived a humble and quiet life for decades and believed deeply in the reward of eternal life with our lord. She is free from the burdens of Alzheimer’s and we envision her downhill skiing in Heaven with her parents and son Matthew Rossi who preceded her in death. In her final years she was protected by her inherited Air Force family, Matt Rossi’s Posse. She is survived by her sons Bruce and Herb Rossi and will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
Ruth 1:16 – And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou logest, I will lodge. Thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God.
