Ramon S. Olvera Sr.'s Obituary
Ramon S. Olvera, Sr. ~ Born July 5th, 1931 in Roscoe, Texas and passed away June 2, 2011 in Royse City, Texas. He was a proud and patriotic member of the US Army and served in the Korean War. Ramon moved to the Quad Cities where he met his loving wife Juanita H. Ybarra. They married and had 5 children. Ramon will be remembered as a devoted and hard working husband and father. His passion for sports included baseball, golf, and so much more. He established the family restaurant El Pavito in Moline, IL. He moved back to Texas and worked for Texas Instruments. After retiring, Ramon was able to travel with his wife. He was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 1994. Ramon will be remembered for his calm yet fun loving personality with a huge loving heart. Preceded in death by parents, Poniano P. Olvera and Fransica S. Olvera; siblings, Dale S. Olvera Sr., Clara Gonzalez, and Benjamin Olvera. Survived by wife, Juantia H. Olvera; siblings, Guadalupe Olvera, Isabel Reyes, Carmen Johnson, and Cecilia Diaz; children, Cynthia Allen, Victoria Fishman, Raymond Olvera Jr., Yolanda Smith, George Olvera; 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. The family would like to thank the Grace Hospice Care for all of their loving care and support to Ramon Olvera and his family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Alzheimer’s Association.
