Mr. Randal Calvin "Randy" Wills' Obituary
Content and at peace to leave this life for the certain joys of heaven, Randal Calvin (Randy C.) Wills went to be with Jesus at the age of 71. His abrupt illness took him harshly and swiftly from his loving family and many friends on July 19, 2022.
Born in Fort Worth, Texas in 1950, to his parents Calvin Lavaughn Wills and Lillian Kilpatrick Wills, Randy is survived by his adoring wife, Dawn Lallier Wills, and his treasured sister, Cindi Wills and husband, Roy Odom. He leaves behind his children and stepchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins, a multitude of friends, colleagues, and the countless local gospel music artists who admired and respected his musicianship over many decades.
Randy’s many years married to Donna are respectfully acknowledged at his passing. He is survived by their dearly loved children, who helped care for him during his illness: Son, Justin Wills and wife, Amy; Daughter, Leslie Wills; Granddaughters, Sabine and Korinne Wills.
Randy is also survived by stepchildren who idolized him and were grateful to have such a wonderful “other dad.” Beau James Yoder and wife, Rachel; Boston Yoder Evans, and husband Russell; and Brighton Yoder Serrato and husband, Tyler, who all loved, respected, and treasured Randy, along with his “grandbabies” Oakley, Briley, and Madden Evans, who could never get enough of their Gramps.
A proud graduate of Dallas Baptist University, Randy was ordained to ministry in 2000. He served as a church staff member from 1988 to the present, serving at Christ Church Rockwall Anglican Church for the past 13 years. Randy was a consummate musician, accomplished pianist, concert promoter, music arranger, producer, studio session pianist, and worship leader with a lifetime spent performing in multiple bands. He is listed on 217 album projects as a studio player on both keyboards and bass. He produced many recorded album projects since 1975. Randy served as the President of the Texas Gospel Music Hall of Fame since 2002, inducting Texas-born gospel music artists and preserving the heritage of gospel music.
Randy loved God with all his heart and served Him cheerfully and reverently, never missing the beauty of his Christian beliefs. He lived a life rich in faith, fellowship, and friendships. A southern gentleman, Randy will be remembered for his love of his big family, his kindness, his musical talent, willingness to serve others, and for his frequent phone answer, “Wills here!"
