Raquel Cecilia Pena's Obituary
Raquel C. Pena, 76 died unexpectedly on February 26, 2023 at Plano City Medical Center in Dallas, TX. Raquel is survived by her brothers Enrique, Juan, and Hector, and her sister Ines (Romero); her children Douglas and Jaqueline; son in law Rett; grandchildren Rett, Ryder, and River. She is predeceased by her husband Orlando Pena.
Raquel was born on April 28, 1946 in Cali, Colombia to her parents Mr. and Mrs. Romero. She completed cosmetology school in Colombia, then attended further education in New York at Marinello Beauty School and received her license as a cosmologist.
She later moved to Dallas, TX and accepted a position as a hairstylist where she worked in Garland for more than 35 years. Raquel was a kind friend, loving mother, and doting grandmother. She married Orlando Pena in Cali, Colombia and the couple had two children, Doug and Jackie.
Raquel was a very social and active lady who was deeply involved in her family and friends’ lives, and very much enjoyed working as a hairstylist with her coworkers and clients for the majority of her life. She loved music, dancing, taking walks outside, and spending time with her grandkids. Her family and friends will always remember her laughter, smile, and big hugs.
