Ray Junior Davis' Obituary
Ray Junior Davis, 80, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Friday, November 23, 2018, while at his home in Richardson, Texas. Ray, a beloved husband, father, son, and brother, will be forever cherished and remembered by his wife of 55 years, Carolyn; his son, Jacky Davis, daughters, Teresa Hatfield, Sonya Dunlap, Cheryl Dunning, and Teresa Lottsfeldt, and their spouses; his 12 grandchildren; his 9 great-grandchildren; and his many close friends.Born on May 12, 1938, in Bristow, Oklahoma, the son of William and Rachel Davis, Ray was a natural and truly talented salesman. After many successful years in different sales roles, including TODCO Overhead Door Company, where he was the top salesman in the country, Ray’s sales expertise led him to start his own company, D&S Door Company. A man of genuine character and integrity, who always put the interests of others before his own, Ray was much more than a successful businessman; he also had deeply rooted love for his country, proudly serving as a member of the U.S. National Guard.Ray had many passions, but his passion for good food and sports transcended all others. He could often be heard telling anyone who would listen, “I don’t eat to live, I live to eat.” He was an avid golfer who loved to play a daily round at either of his favorite courses, Great Southwest Golf Course or the Trails of Frisco. His family remembers him as a blessed man who was “not always right” but was “never wrong.”A celebration of Ray’s life will be held at 11 am on November 26, 2018, at Monica Park Christian Church in Garland, Texas. Visitation will be held on November 25, 2018 at Restland Funeral Home from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm. He will be laid to rest at Restland Cemetery. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14.In lieu of flower donations, the family is asking that donations please be made to the Monica park Christian Church – Covered Walkway Project.
