Ray Keller's Obituary
John “Ray” Keller, Jr., son of the late John Ray Keller and Marie Crawford Keller, passed away peacefully at his home in North Richland Hills early Sunday, February 8, 2026, with his wife of 39 years, Carol, by his side. Ray is preceded in death by his niece, Amy Leigh Keller. He is survived by his loving wife, Carol Keller, his children, Brian (Diane) Henderson, Lori Henderson, and Elizabeth (Chance) Pruitt, sister, Kay (Cary) Kipp and brother, Victor (Nancy) Keller.
Ray attended St. Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic School, Holy Trinity Seminary of Dallas and Bishop Lynch High School. He began his political career in High School as Senior Class President and, upon graduating from Tulane University in New Orleans, LA, Ray continued in politics, eventually serving four elected terms in Texas House of Representatives from 1979 through 1987. His dedicated service was comprised of many noteworthy contributions on House Committees including State Affairs, Budget and Oversight as well as Law Enforcement Subcommittee and Chair. During his final term, Ray met and married his wife, Carol, in Dallas on May 17, 1986.
Growing up, Ray loved all things outdoors, having fun and hunting, fishing, camping, and water skiing. In his later years, he loved spending time with his parents and family, continuing fishing adventures and Saturday barbecues with his dad, always ready to discuss politics and music. He loved his dogs, a good story, laughing and reminiscing.
Together with Carol, one of Ray’s greatest joys was the blessing of raising two granddaughters, Paige and Veronica. In addition to Paige (Micah) and Veronica, Ray leaves behind to cherish his memory his grandchildren, Andrew (Camryn), Gracie, MacKenzye, Blake, Meagan, and Isabella, great grandson, Joseph, nephews and nieces, Jason (Lisa), Adam (Chandra), Nicole, Taylor, Jacqueline, Kirsten and John (Jade), great nephews and nieces, Clayton, Jackson, Harrison, Morgan, Jordan and Paisley.
Ray loved the Lord with all his heart, soul and mind. He fought a good fight, finished the race and is now in the arms of Jesus. To celebrate Ray’s life, the Keller family will have a memorial service Saturday, February 21, 2026, 2:00 pm at Freedom Life Fellowship Church, 709 W. Midway Dr., Euless, TX 76039.
In his loving memory in lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Freedom Life Fellowship Church, 709 W. Midway Dr., Euless, TX 76039, or to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 506 E. Ramsey Rd., Suite 3, San Antonio, TX 78216, (210) 829-7267.
