Ray D. Lasater's Obituary
Ray Lasater went to meet his Lord and Savior on February 4, 2017. Ray was born in Merkel, Texas on July 25, 1919 and had one brother and five sisters. He served in the Army in WWII as a radio operator for the railroad battalion. Ray worked for Mobil Oil for 37 years and was co-owner of Dalworth Pest Control for twenty years. Ray was married to his wife LaVerne for 68 years and they were members of Axe Memorial UMC for 60 years. Ray and LaVerne have three sons who married and live locally: Tommy and Debby, Terry and Racene, and Frank and Jana. They have eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Ray loved his family, his church family, and his Sunday School class. Although Ray worked two jobs for 20 years he always found time for a family vacation. Ray enjoyed the outdoors, camping, fishing and following local sports teams. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Ray’s name to Axe Memorial UMC, 1700 W. Kingsley Rd, Garland, TX 75041. Funeral service will be held at 11 am, Friday, February 10, 2017 at Restland Memorial Chapel with visitation one hour prior to the service starting at 10:00 am in the chapel. Interment will follow service in the Garden of Ascension at Restland Memorial Park.
