Raymond Truitt Brinson's Obituary
Brinson, Raymond Truitt Born in Frost, Texas on July 3,1920 to Phillip and Geneva Brinson. Preceded in death by his wife of fifty years, Dorothy Jeane Swindell Brinson, his eldest son Reverend Ray Brinson Jr. Brothers: Vernon, Phillip, and Carlton. Sisters: Orelle, Adelle, and Audrey. Survived by best friend Alice Maxwell, brother Roy, daughter Cynthia (Cy) Brinson, son David Brinson and wife Mary Brinson, and Ray’s widow, Carol Marie Brinson. Grandchildren: Stephany, Clea, Renee, and Andrew. Great grandchildren: Lucy, Jake, Zoe, Sophia, and many wonderful nieces and nephews, in-laws, and friends. Truitt was raised in Frost, Texas, then attended North Texas University. He worked at Fairbanks Morse and Company for 23 successful years. He married on November 14, 1942. Truitt joined the Navy in November 1943. He made Dallas his home for his family and became a life underwriter for Mutual of New York where he made the Million Dollar Roundtable every year thereafter. In 1986 he was chosen as “MONY’S Man of the Year.” Truitt was an usher and greeter at Oak Lawn until the age of 89. His energy, creativity, love, and light will be missed by all. Memorial Service Monday November 8, 2010 2:00 p.m. at Oak Lawn United Methodist Church, 3014 Oak Lawn Avenue Dallas, Texas 75219. Visitation Sunday, November 7, 2010 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Restland Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be given in Truitt’s memory to Oak Lawn United Methodist Church, so his work may continue.
