Raymond Thomas Delicati's Obituary
DELICATI, RAYMOND THOMAS 81, died Friday, October 25, 2013 at his home in Coppell, Texas. Ray was born on October, 23, 1932 in Cleveland, Ohio. He graduated from West Technical High School in 1951 and received his Bachelors of Science in Businessfrom Fenn College in Cleveland. Answering the call to serve, Ray enlisted in the United States Navy in January 1952. Serving aboard the USS Defense and operating in Korean waters in support of United Nations forces, Ray participated in clearing the waters at Inchon and surrounding beaches of mines. Petty Officer First Class (YN1) Raymond T. Delicati completed his naval service in 1960. Ray’s career in Transportation & Distribution spanned 30 years with Diamond Shamrock/ Occidental Chemical in Cleveland and Dallas. He spent an additional 10 years with Mark VII in Dallas, retiring in 2003. Ray is survived by his loving wife, Karen; four children, Linda (Dan) Kling, Jeffrey (Kathy) Delicati, Jeffrey (Sherrie) Novotny, and Shelly (Shane) Collinsworth; ten grandchildren, Lauren (Greg) Roth, Scott Kling; Samantha and Paul Delicati, Andrea (William) Melton; Regan, Nolan and Evan Novotny; and Griffin and Rowan Collinsworth. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Diego and Constance Delicati; brother Albert; sister Irene; and wife, Gail. Ray was an avid sports fan, enjoyed traveling to new places, and loved being surrounded by family and friends. A memorial service celebrating Ray’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 28, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church Coppell.
