Our dearest Raymond, Words just seem shallow in a time like this. The loss of you was a great one. You were brother and friend. There are so many memories of you to choose from but the best memories that we will have of you is your laughter and sensitivity and your love for many even if you felt like the love wasn't returned as it should have been. You had a kind heart and you never really wanted conflict or to hurt anyone's feelings. We will never forget your letters in the dark years you went through, but we will always remember how you met every challenge head on. If anyone has any doubts about the person you were, they should really look at your life….the way you lived and even in death you reached out with grace and love and forgiveness…..not forgetting to reach out to all of the ones you loved….no……not one. Not all have the ability to do that. You will be greatly missed. You were one of the best ones to grace the earth with your presence. Your absence on this earth will not go unnoticed. Your kindness will be seen and felt in every beautiful flower on this earth. When we look at the sun and the moon, we will know that you already know everything there is to know about it and we know that you will be watching over the loved ones that you love…always. Raymond used to jam with us (play music and sing) in the late 80's in Oak Cliff. He was a famous guy with lots of friends. Remember you like that Raymond.
I miss you my Doodle ! I hope you feel good with the path life has taken me, I'm happy ! As well Joseph is dealing better. Keith too. All the grandkid's are growing, and your side kick is getting braces ! I pray for you every day. David Spurlock has visited me and brought me his newest book. S O N is doing well. He helped me with my car once thankfully .I love you !
Betty, you and Jack , i can not find the words to express my gratitude for the love and support , emotionally as well as the years of certain supplies and such you helped us with. Supplies my Raymond desperately needed back in Dallas . Then the gift cards to help keep us afloat. Truly , what matters most was i know where your hearts were. I know you loved him , and i know he loved you. In ending , I'd like you to know, one of his treasured mementos from the past was the card you sent him when he got his GED. Sounds inconsequential to most, but he treasured it till his time here with us was over. For this and much more, I thank you Jack and Petra Nafus !
