Raymond Joseph Dupuy, Jr.'s Obituary
Raymond Joseph Dupuy, Jr. was born on August 16, 1936, in Texas City, Texas to Raymond Joseph Dupuy and Hilda Hellmers Dupuy and greeted the Lord on February 23, 2019, in Dallas, Texas. He was a graduate of Texas City High School, Austin College, and UT Galveston Physical Therapy school. He was a faithful and committed Christian, who walked humbly with his Lord. He was a devoted husband for sixty years of marriage. He was a long-time active member of First Presbyterian Church of Dallas and later Lake Highlands United Methodist Church. He and his wife Charlotte raised three children, Phyllis, Ray, and Katie to whom he passed along his love and faith and sense of humor. He sacrificed his own interest in that of his family. He held a deep passion for his work as a physical therapist, an occupation that brought him a great sense of personal satisfaction. He loved helping others in their physical recovery from injuries and surgery. He helped them laugh their way through the pain of recovery. He actively treated patients until his 80th birthday. He told stories to everyone he met, some of which were true, most of which were humorous at his own expense. He never hesitated to tell the same story twice. He loved sports since the days of his youth. He played youth, high school and college basketball and baseball and was inducted into the Austin College Athletic Hall of Honor in 1996. He also played adult recreational, and competitive league softball with the Greyhounds at which he excelled well past his 65th year. He loved watching his children and later his grandchildren following in his own athletic footsteps.Raymond enjoyed himself and gladly accepted as a precious gift, each and every day of life he was given. He treated each person he met with kindness and was always quick with a smile, a joke and a laugh. He never made an enemy and never forgot a friend. In his life, he brought comfort to those who suffered, he brought smiles to everyone he met, and in his passing he leaves nothing but fond memories and many stories told by a man who simply loved his life and loved the Lord.He will be missed by all that knew him. Well done my good faithful and servant. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Frasher Dupuy, his three children, Phyllis Frasher Dupuy Bevel, Raymond Joseph Dupuy, III (Cindy Lenart Dupuy) and Katherine Elaine Dupuy Cantrell (Brian Cantrell), 7 grandchildren, his sister Kay Dupuy Miller (Jim Miller), 4 nieces and 4 nephews and many, many friends.Memorials in Raymond’s honor may be given to the Jesus Film Project by calling (800) 387-4040 or going to: https://www.jesusfilm.org/memorial-form.htmlA service for the celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at Lake Highlands United Methodist Church, 9015 Plano Road, Dallas, Texas 75238Funeral arrangements for Mr. Raymond Joseph Dupuy, Jr have been faithfully entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery, which is located at 13005 Greenville Avenue at the intersection of Restland Road, Dallas, Texas 75243, and can be reached at (972) 238-7111.
