Raymond Stone Redman's Obituary
Raymond Stone Redman, 84, passed away December 27, 2016 in McKinney, Texas, surrounded by his family. He fought every day with grace, humility, and a smile during his battle with multiple myeloma. Ray was a loving, devoted, and proud husband, father, and PawPaw. Ray was born May 3, 1932 in Dallas to Frank and Cecil Redman. He graduated from Highland Park High School before entering the service during the Korean Conflict. After the war, he proudly graduated from The University of Texas at Austin. Ray worked in sales for many years, most recently with his extended family at Encore Wire. Ray and his wife Terrie were married in 1975 and brought two beautiful daughters, Shelly and Whitney, into the world. His girls were the light of his life. Besides his family, Ray’s passion was cheering on his beloved Texas Longhorns and Dallas Cowboys. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Frank and Cecil Redman, brothers Frank and John Redman, and sister Jane Kincaid. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Terrie Redman, daughters Shelly Pope and Whitney Redman, son-in-law Clayton Pope, grandchildren Jaden Stone (15) and Raleigh Gray (10), and three fur babies Olly, Boone, and Gentry (Lil’ Bit). Visitation will be held on Friday, December 30, 2016, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home. A public celebration of Ray’s life will take place on December 31, 2016, at 3:00 PM Restland Funeral Home in Dallas. In lieu of flowers, and because Ray loved his fur babies so much, the family asks that donations be made in his name to your local animal shelter.
