Rea Lois Brooks Jr.'s Obituary
Born 11-14-21, Died 9-25-08. Born and raised in Memphis, Tenn., he moved his family to Farmers Branch, TX. in 1955 to work for Braniff Airways where he completed 28 years as an A and P mechanic. Rea was a person wanting to be busy always. He will be remembered as always offering help to family and friends with “If I can help, let me know.” Rea and Edith Jones married May 18, 1946, after his return from 4 years of service in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. Rea was proud to have served his country maintaining and flying B-24’s and B-29’s. Rea continued to show his love for his country by flying the American flag on all occasions. Rea loved to travel with his family and would spend much time planning all the fun things to see and do. Rea loved hunting and fishing with his sons Eddie and Brad. He also dedicated his time coaching Little League Baseball and working in Boy Scouts. He always loved to tell stories about his grandchildren Courtney, Laura, Shelby, Brianna, Colby and great granddaughter Layla. Rea is survived by his wife of 62 years, Edith, son Ed and fianc’ Trish, son Brad and caring daughter-in-law Lisa plus 5 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. Visitation will be 6-8PM, Sunday, September 28, 2008 at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be at 12:30PM, Monday, September 29, 2008 at Restland’s Wildwood Chapel.
