Rebecca Anne Gould's Obituary

Rebecca Anne Gould was born on October 26, 1942, in Marshall, Texas and passed away after a brief illness on April 6, 2023, in Dallas, Texas. She is preceded in death by her mother, Charlotte Gould, and stepfather Joe Gould. Left to cherish her memory are her life partner, Lucile Haug of Dallas, Texas, and countless friends and admirers whose lives she touched.
Rebecca graduated from the University of Colorado with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and History and a Master of Social Work from Louisiana State University. She obtained her law degree from San Fernando Valley School of Law in California.
Rebecca was a remarkable woman. She was an accomplished tennis player who was the first woman athlete at Centenary Collage of Louisiana to take part in sports at the Varsity level. A strong advocate for others, she was the Chairperson for Legislative Action for the National Organization of Women, Los Angeles, and a NOW Board Member. She was also a brilliant legal mind who retired from Strasburger and Price in 2007. She was an avid reader, a world traveler, a dedicated Texas Rangers fan, and cat mom.
She was a devoted daughter, a loving partner, a generous mentor, and loyal friend whose friendships lasted decades. With twinkling blue eyes, a mischievous wit, infectious smile, and open heart, she loved and was loved with heart and soul.
Condolences can be sent to Bryan Frazier/ Lucile Haug c/o Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75243. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a future date.
