Rebecca Lorie Jordan's Obituary
JORDAN, REBECCA LORIE Died 4/10/2007 in Highland Village Texas at Rambling Oaks Courtyard Assisted Living losing a battle with cancer that began in November 2004. She was born in Dallas, Texas on November 16th, 1952 the daughter of Drs. J. Russell and Lois F. Jordan. She received her BA in Psychology and Political Science in 1974 from Austin College, Sherman, TX, where she was Student Body Vice President, a member of the sorority Alpha Delta Chi, and the Social Sciences and History Honor Society, Pi Gamma Mu . She went on to receive her Masters in Economics and Middle Eastern Studies from The Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies in Washington, D.C. in 1976. She began a career in international banking with Manufacturer’s Hanover Trust Bank in New York City in 1976 and was with the bank through their merger with J.P. Morgan and later takeover of Chase Manhattan. In 1980, she took a post at the Swedish branch of the bank in Stockholm and soon after at the Norwegian branch in Oslo where she lived for almost twenty three years. Her final two years in Oslo were spent as the compliance officer with the Norwegian central bank, Norges Bank.
