Rebecca Jean Noack's Obituary
Becky always put others first, a professional homemaker in every sense, gracious and graceful, beautiful both inside and out. Rebecca Jean Spicer was born in Fullerton, LA, March 30, 1925 to Herbert and Mollie Spicer and was the youngest of five siblings. Becky would have celebrated her 60th year of marriage to Melvin Roy Noack in September, 2008. Becky grew up in Port Arthur, TX, where she caught the eye of Mel Noack when strutting the field as head majorette. After attending Texas State Women’s College in Denton, she married in 1948. Becky filled fifty nine years with ceaseless volunteerism including Meals on Wheels, mentally challenged children, the DISD school system, Northpark Presbyterian Church Children’s Education, and as an instructor in seniors’ dance and exercise programs. A proud member of the Mayflower Society and active in the Mobil Wives Club, she was a lover of dance, theatre, music, birds, world travel, sports, and cooking. A true match made in Heaven, a wonderful marriage produced a daughter, Vicki Squires, of Dallas, and son, Eric, of Plano, TX. She is also survived by beloved grandchildren Jamie and wife Mackenzie, Vanessa, Victoria, Alexandra, and Michael. son-in-law James Squires and daughter-in-law Susan Noack as well as many nieces and nephews. To her enormous circle of friends, she will always be remembered for her smile, generosity, and kind words. To her loving family, she was the best wife and mother, a woman of gentle humor in difficult times and a courageous spirit during her last months on Earth. There were never enough sunny 90 degree days, cute size 4 ‘ shoes, desserts and candy, plates of Mexican food, rare steaks and buttery lobsters, or opportunities to dance and travel with close friends and family. Our ‘Honey’ was the sweetest thing in this world and is now the sweetest thing in Heaven. Becky passed away peacefully after a brief illness in her home surrounded by her husband and two children. A memorial service will be conducted at 10:30 on Wednesday, June 11th at Northpark Presbyterian Church at 9555 North Central Expressway in Dallas.
