Reece Wyman Manley's Obituary
Manley, Reece Wyman Passed away suddenly on Thursday, February 3, 2011, at the age of 42. Reece was born on January 14, 1969 in Littlefield, Texas. He graduated from Littlefield High School in 1987 and was an Eagle Scout. In 1994 he received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Texas Tech, then a Masters of Education degree from Southwest Texas State with a major in Counseling and Guidance in 1995. Although disabled by neuropathy resulting from a surgery in 2001, he continued to work as much as possible for a family business based in Dallas. Reece had been frequently hospitalized during the past eight years and used his experience in a near death episode as the inspiration for two books he authored, Crossing Twice and All Gays go to Heaven. Throughout his many hospitalizations, Reece remained an inspiration to all who knew him. He is survived by his parents, Robert Manley and Treva Manley; brother, Ross; sister-in-law, Kerryann Manley; step-brother, Trey Smith; and nephews, Rian Manley, Rory Manley and Connor Smith. Services will be 12:00 noon on Monday, February 7th at Restland Abbey Chapel. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Neurological Association.
