Reed Wilson Ferguson Jr.'s Obituary
In Loving Memory of Reed Wilson Ferguson Jr., born in Madisonville, Texas August 4th, 1934. We celebrate the life of Reed who was respected, admired and loved. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend to many.Reed attended Crockett High School and was well liked by his fellow students. He excelled in sports, especially football and track. He won numerous events and was asked to try out for the A&M track team and offered a scholarship. He played Taps for 38 funerals of returning Korean War Veterans. After graduating from Crockett High School, Reed entered Sam Houston State University and earned an MBA in business with a minor in Agriculture. He was President of the Esquires Fraternity. He married his high school sweetheart, Peggy Jane Scott, and moved to Richardson, TX. Reed served 10 years in the Texas National Guard. After college he joined Texas Instruments in 1958 and spent 39 years in manufacturing and quality control. Reed completed ISO 9000 Training for T.I. Operations Worldwide, which earned him a distinctive award. This allowed him to travel and enjoy countries around the world while auditing T.I. Operations.Reed loved spending time on the lake and beach,, fishing, hunting, playing golf, going to Vegas, the horse races and enjoying time with family and friends. He will be missed by many, especially his children, Steven and Marla, and his grandchildren, Haley, Abbey and Nicholas. He is now with The Lord, at peace and dancing again with Peggy! Services: Visitation for Reed Wilson Ferguson Jr., will be held on Thursday, August 2, 2018, from 5:00-7:00 pm at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow on Friday, August 3, 2018 at 10:00 am in Wildwood Chapel at Restland Cemetery. Graveside service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, Crockett, Texas Saturday, August 4, 2018 at 11:00 AM.
