Reid Holland Williams' Obituary
Reid H. William Jr., born on December 2, 1929, in Dallas, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home in Dallas on March 20, 2025. He was 95 years old.
Reid graduated from Southern Methodist University (SMU) in 1951 with a Bachelor of Business Administration. During his time at SMU, he was an avid athlete, playing both baseball and basketball. His career in sales spanned an impressive 50 years, during which he made lasting connections and friendships.
Reid is survived by his loving family: his daughter Moncy Nabors; stepsons Jay and Trey Harris; grandson Christopher Reid Byars and his wife Betsy; and two great-grandsons, Owen Reid and Nate William Byars. He is also survived by his sister Catherine Ann and her husband LC Courtney, along with many cousins and friends.
Reid was fortunate to have experienced the love of three wonderful women, all of whom predeceased him. He was married to his first wife, Ann Hardin, for 56 years. He later found love again with his second wife, Patsy Harris, and his dear companion, Ruth Gibson, with whom he enjoyed many games of gin rummy at The Tradition Independent Living Prestonwood.
Reid was deeply grateful for the care provided by Elizabeth and Shoko at Prestonwood, and he often expressed his appreciation for the wonderful community there, telling his daughter every day for the last 12 years, "The Tradition Prestonwood is a wonderful place to live."
Reid spent his final days under the compassionate care of Lovewell Hospice.
A memorial service will be held at the Church of the Incarnation Memorial Chapel on April 11, 2025 at 11am, followed by a lunch catered by El Fenix in the Welcome Center. A burial service will take place at Restland Cemetery-Court of the Good Shepherd at 3:00 PM for close family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Reid H. William Jr.'s name to the Bright Focus Foundation/National Glaucoma Research at brightfocus.org.
Reid's legacy of love, kindness, and dedication will be cherished by all who knew him.
