Rene Herrera's Obituary
Born June 12, 1940 in San Luis Potosi, Mexico to Fernando and Maria Herrera and passed away April 10, 2015 in Richardson, Texas. Rene Herrera, loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Kay Herrera, daughter Renee Marie Chaney and spouse Walter Chaney, granddaughters, Tiffany Chaney and Nicole Chaney; brothers, Fernando Herrera and William “Bill” Herrera and spouse Carmen Herrera, sister, Maggie Levickas and spouse Tom Levickas; and several nieces and nephews. Rene is also survived by his adopted family Fidel III, Carmen, Fidel IV, Sebastian, Daniella, Ernesto, and Abraham Leal. He is preceded in death by his father Fernando Herrera and mother Maria Herrera. He worked for Albertson’s in the produce department and as a butcher in the meat department. He also worked at Whole Foods as a butcher. He loved playing his keyboard while entertaining people. He loved interacting with people and everyone he met loved him. Rene never met a stranger and will be missed by all whose lives he touched. The family kindly wishes to not have any flowers sent to them, and want to thank you for honoring this request. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
