Mr. Rene Joseph Lloyd Jr.'s Obituary
Mr. Lloyd was born on August 22, 1916 and passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2007. Mr. Lloyd was a resident of Dallas, Texas at the time of his passing. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps in 1942 as a C-47 pilot, and flew many missions in the European theater as a member of the 82nd Airborne. Rene flew and dropped troops into St. Mere Eglise on D-Day, 1944. He received the Air Medal (Oak Leaf Cluster) for flying in the Holland Invasion in 1944, and received the Presidential Unit Citation with Oak Leaf Cluster. Rene brought home several other medals and honors. He is survived by his wife Lucille. Visitation is at 2:00 p.m. at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas on Sunday, December 9, 2007. Services will be held Monday, December 10, 2007 in the Memorial Chapel at Restland at 10:00 a.m., with burial following. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, 1707 San Jacinto, Dallas, TX 75201.
