Rex O'dell Smith's Obituary
SMITH, REX O’DELL 52, of Plano, TX went home to be with Jesus on Thursday, January 17, 2013. He was born on November 1, 1960 in Midland, TX to Jeff and Emma Mae Smith. He is the beloved brother to Zoe Brewer of Plano, Tx, Frances “Honey” Wall of Valley View, TX, and J.H. “Bud” Smith of Lake Kiowa, TX. He was the beloved father to Ana Zofia Isabel Smith of Richardson, TX. Rex graduated from Plano Sr. High School and went on to receive a Paralegal Certificate from SMU and eventually a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Human Resources from Texas A&M Commerce. He was employed by the 7-11 Corporation in Dallas, TX in the Human Resources Department. Rex was a Bible believing Christian and a member of Prestonwood Baptist Church. He attended Sunday School and volunteered in the Children’s Ministry. He was glad to spread the gospel everywhere he went. He was an avid music lover and Texas Rangers fan. Rex is survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins. He also leaves behind many dear friends and co-workers. Visitation will be held at Restland in Dallas,TX on Tuesday, January 22 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Memorial Services will be held Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Prestonwood Baptist Church, Plano, TX in the Faith Chapel at 2pm. Reception to be held at 12 pm in Prestonwood Baptist church BEFORE the memorial.
