Rhoda Lesa Hokanson's Obituary
Rhoda Lesa Hokanson
1/27/1958 – 11/18/2024
Rhoda Lesa Hokanson was originally born January 27, 1958, in Germany and adopted by Obe Hokanson and Mary Ann Hokanson. She grew up alongside her adoptive brother, Guy Hokanson, and spent her early years traveling around the globe to places like Japan, The Philippines, several European countries, and across the U.S. Eventually, Rhoda and her parents settled in Texas where she embarked on a teaching career.
Though Rhoda didn’t have any physical children of her own, her heart led her to teach at Poteet High School where she spent the best part of 40+ years cherishing every single student that crossed her path. You could often find her in Poteet colors and clothing and constantly volunteering or attending every sports activity she possibly could. Even after she retired from teaching, she couldn’t stay away from her biggest passion in life and continued as a substitute until medical concerns prevented her from doing so.
Though various medical conditions affected her throughout her life, she never let it stop her from pursuing her passions and devoting herself to her students and her niece, nephew, and great nieces and nephews and we will always remember her for her candidness, persistence in life, and the way she cared for so many hearts along the way.
