Ricardo "Rick" Silva's Obituary
Ricardo “Rick” Silva, age 69, passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2023 in Trophy Club, Texas surrounded by family and friends.
Rick was born to Santos and Maria Guadalupe Casas Silva on November 14, 1954 in Brownsville, Texas. At the age of 22, he joined the Dallas Police Department where he served his community in many different departments including Homicide, Intelligence and Dignitary Protection. He remained a dedicated officer for 35 years before retiring to enjoy his hobbies of fishing, hunting and golf. Rick will be sincerely missed by his many friends and family who dubbed him “Rescue Rick” for his desire to always help anyone in need.
He was preceded in death by his father Santos Silva, daughter Rachel Silva Dunn, and brother Daniel Silva.
Rick is survived by his wife of 30 years Pamela Silva, his mother Maria Guadalupe Silva, his children Randy Silva and wife Laura, Amber Whited and husband Christopher, brothers David Silva, Bernie Silva and wife Sidnee, Albert Silva, Manuel Silva, Michael Silva and wife Pam, sisters Maria Castro and husband Gary, and Frances Johnson and husband Mike, mother in law Kay Hancock, brother in law Robert Hancock Jr. and wife Heather. He was Kiki to his grandchildren Avery Whited and Connor Whited and Grandpa Rick to Bailey, Devon, Kaylin and Bella Silva. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, January 5, 2024, at 11:00 am at The Bridge Chapel at LakePointe Church, 701 E. I 30, Rockwall, Texas. A gathering of friends and family will be held following the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations may be made, in Rick’s honor, to the Assist the Officer Foundation (or charity of your choice).
