Dick was always helpful to me when I was chapter regent of Mary Shirley McGuire chapter in Plano. He marched in parades with us in his 80s. When I was teaching school, he let me borrow his colonial hat so I could show the kids and teach them the song, "My Hat It Has 3 Corners." It was always a pleasure to be around him.

Dick was a friend to me right after I joined the SAR. He made a nice compliment to me that I will always remember. The cock aid we wear on our Tricorns was designed by Dick and it became the Texas SAR identity. Rest in peace Dick. You will be missed.
