Richard Alan Banks' Obituary
Richard Alan Banks, 60, of Plano passed away on June 2, 2017. He was born in Dallas, Texas on November 13, 1956 to Billy Wayne and Ruby Jean Banks. He graduated from Lake Highlands High School in Dallas, and continued on to receive a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Southern Methodist University, and later became a CPA. Richard was married to Kay B. Witt on April 7, 1983; they were married 34 years. He worked in accounting and real estate for a number of years, and later in management with Starbucks. Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Billy Wayne Banks and Ruby Jean Banks; as well as his sister-in-law Elizabeth Banks, and his nephew Wayne Banks. Richard is survived by his wife Kay, his daughter Amber Weatherly and husband Michael; his son Jonathan and wife Christine; and eight grandchildren, Emily, Caleb, Cross, Jaxon, Sawyer, Ethan, Tyler, and Nolan; his two brothers, Robert Banks, Paul Banks and wife Susan; and his nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday June 7, 2017 at 12:30 PM in the Wildwood Chapel at Restland in Dallas. Pastor James Waugh of Lakehoma Church of Christ will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00PM to 8:00PM on June 6, 2017 at Restland funeral home. Richard will be dearly missed by his family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials may be made to The Marfan Foundation 22 Manhasset Avenue, Port Washington, NY 11050. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
