Richard Raymond Benzon's Obituary
Richard Raymond Benzon, age 83, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2023. He had his family at his bedside during his final days.
Richard was born on July 20, 1939 to the late Raymond Marion and Sara Adelaide (Carr) Benzon in Rochester, New York. After graduating from Michigan State University in 1964, he took an internship in Chicago at the Leo Burnett advertising company where he met the love of his life Nancy Garretson. They wed June 19, 1965 and spent the next fifty-seven and a half years happily married, the last forty-six years in Dallas, Texas. Richard continued his advertising career in both radio and billboards, successfully selling his start up business in 1994.
He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Benzon; two children, Christine Benzon Krumbholz and her fiancée Scott Miller of Dallas, Texas, and Daniel Benzon and his wife Kelly of Austin, Texas; three grandchildren Ryan Krumbholz, Katherine Benzon and Lauren Benzon; sister Dorothy Mull of Rochester, New York; and several nephews and nieces.
Richard will be cremated and buried at Restland. A Celebration of Life service will occur on Friday, May 19, 2023 from 2-4pm, with words of remembrance at 2:15pm, at Restland Event Center, 9220 Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243.
