Richard "Dick" Clark Sparkman's Obituary
Richard “Dick” Clark Sparkman, age 84, died on December 6, 2019, in Dallas, Texas.Dick is survived by his wife, Lois Schut Sparkman, of Garland; his children, Susan (Duffy) Doherty, of San Diego, CA; Gregory (Stephanie) Sparkman of Allen, TX; Lisa (Epifanio) Quintanilla, of Garland, TX; Kelly (Shirl) Sparkman of Arlington, TX; eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Nellie Lee Pass-Sparkman and William “Boe” Horton Sparkman, of Sanger, TX; his sisters, Alice Christine (Ed) Merritt of Rosenberg, TX; Betty Jo (Byrd) Day of Dallas, TX and Peggy Jean (Lloyd) King of Garland.Dick was born on March 1, 1935 in Denton, TX. He graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in Dallas, TX in 1953. Attended college at SMU. Dick spent his career at Continental Trailways, Gifford Hill, and General Portland (La Farage). His post retirement as the owner of L&R Systems. And a four-year stint in the Air Force from 1957-1961 at Lackland in San Antonio, TX.Dick was a great family man and a loving father. He married Lois in 1973 and the couple have a blended family. His family and friends will always remember him as a kind, wonderful, generous man with a great smile.A funeral is scheduled for 12:30 pm on December 12, 2019, with a viewing at 11:30 am the same day, at the Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home with a reception to follow. Harry Meissner will officiate. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Dick’s life
