Richard Allen Crawford's Obituary
Richard passed away on Friday, November 10, 2017. He was born on October 31, 1925 in Kennett, MO, the son of Curtis and Zetta Crawford. He joined the U. S. Navy in 1941 to fight in World War II and served on various naval ships during his enlistment. He married Mary Lou Duve in 1952 and resided in Dallas, TX until she preceded him in death in 1979. During this time he worked for Texas Instruments in the Optics Department and retired after 30 years of service. He also became a 33rd Degree member of the Scottish Rite Freemasonry. After retirement he moved to Colorado to live for 20 years, enjoying his hobbies of hunting, fishing and living in the mountains. He returned to Texas in 2015 to reside with his son and enjoyed visiting with all of his family.He is survived by his children Bobby (Susan), Britt (Coni), Cathy Daniel (Keith) and Carrie Whitson (Mark). Grandchildren Elinore (John), Kristen, Allen (Amanda), Kevin (Christi), Patricia, Matthew (Shelby), Jonathan (Poppy), Jessica (Paris), Rebecca, Connor, Kaelyn, and Sabrina. Great Grandchildren Cameron, Piper, Micah, Stella, Lane, Trey, Janessa, Shaun, Henry, Audri, Ava; his brother Arthur, sisters Earlina Abbott, Jane Branom (Ed), Polly McDonald (Bob) and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and four brothers.The visitation for Richard will be held on Saturday, November 18 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. A graveside service for Richard will be held on Sunday, November 19, at 1:00 pm at Restland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to Texas Scottish Rite Hospital, www.scottishritehospital.org. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243, (972-238-7111).
