Mr. Richard Marcus Farstad, 87, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 29, 2018, in Richardson, Texas. He was born on Wednesday, December 3, 1930, to his loving and thoughtful parents, Marcus Farstad and Olga Odegaard in Yonkers, New York. Mr. Richard Marcus Farstad will be sincerely missed by his loving family, his devoted friends and all the wonderful individuals who knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by his wife, Ima Jane Farstad. He is survived by his daughter Martha Van Den Heuvel of Sasche, Texas and his son, Mark Farstad of Garland, Texas; his brother, Arnold Farstad of Loveland, Texas; 4 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.Mr. Richard Marcus Farstad was a missionary to the Quechua people of Ecuador, S.A. from 1960-1970. He made radio programs with the radio station, HCJB for 19 of the 23 known Quechua dialects from Colombia to Chile. He was still making radio programs up until God called him home.Visitation for Mr. Richard Marcus Farstad will be held Friday, August 31, 2018, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home, located at 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas, Texas 75243.
