Richard Chilton James' Obituary
Richard Chilton James (Dick) passed away on Wednesday, November 12th, 2014. He was born in Houston, Texas, on January 7, 1944. He married his high school sweetheart, Jane Mullins James, on November 15, 1963. Richard served two years in the army (1966-68) and was stationed in Okinawa. They moved to Dallas, TX in 1971 for Richard to attend North Texas State University. He was a life-long member of the Nazarene Church where he served on Church Boards as well as numerous other lay positions. He retired from Broadview Security in 2010. Richard lived a life filled with love, family, laughter, and a strong belief in God. He was happiest when he was surrounded by family and friends. He is survived by his wife Jane of 51 years; his daughter Angela Kneupper (husband Ben) and grandson Ian James Kneupper – the joy of his life; his cousins/brothers Ron and Rick Minkler. Richard is preceded in death by his parents John and Thelma James and his Uncle Rev. Jack Minkler and Aunt Cecile. His last days were spent in the Vitas Hospice Care Unit, Baylor-Carrollton, where an awesome team came together to make him comfortable. The Memorial service for Richard James will be at 1:00 pm, Saturday, November 15, at the Richardson Church of the Nazarene, 2101 East Renner Road, Richardson, TX 75082. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75238.
