Richard Glyn Keen's Obituary
Richard Glyn Keen, 80, of Balch Springs, Texas, passed away on January 30, 2024. Richard was born July 15, 1943, in Dallas, Texas to Richard Bruce and Clara Etta Keen. Richard has been a hard worker his entire life. He was the owner of Herco Equipment, a hydraulic repair company, which he built and grew for over 50 years.
Richard is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Elizabeth Cheryl Keen; his two children, Richard Glyn Keen, Jr. (Lisa) and Kimberly Lynn Johnson (Eugene); his four grandchildren, Kortney House (Jonathan), Brittany Moeck (Ryan), Brooke Stubblefield (Colton), and Kameron Keen; and his five great-grandchildren, Mae Moeck, Cooper Moeck, Ethan House, Weston Moeck and Rylee Stubblefield; as well as several members of his extended family. Richard ensured that his close-knit family was well loved, and he was greatly loved in return.
In his spare time, he enjoyed working on and restoring old cars and hot rods. He had a passion for horses and many other animals. Richard leaves behind two shop dogs, Leyla and Sadie, who faithfully loved and protected him and his property.
Richard was known for calling and checking on everyone he knew. He took pride in giving people a chance and helping others to succeed. Richard’s love and generosity greatly impacted the lives of many, many people. He was a beloved member of his community and will be dearly missed by his family and countless friends.
