Richard Alan Kellerhouse's Obituary
Richard Alan Kellerhouse, 92, of Dallas, Texas, passed away on November 8th, 2024, Richard passed peacefully at home of natural causes with his daughter, Sharon, by his side. He was born on October 3, 1932 in White Plains, NY to Lucille E. Earle and Paul Kellerhouse. As a devoted husband and father, Richard's number one priority was ensuring his family was provided for.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1950-1954 in the Korean War as an Atomic Veteran on the USS Curtis AV4, participating in Operation Greenhouse (1951).
Upon leaving the Navy, with his love for education, Richard earned a B.S. from Nyack College, Nyack, New York, and a M.A. from New York University, N.Y. as well as a M.S. from Abilene Christian University Dallas, Tx.
After 37 years as a Systems Engineer for IBM, and as a adjunct instructor with Brookhaven College from 1991-2000, he decided to retire.
Richard enjoyed life long church membership that always accompanied involvement in various church activities. Richard loved to travel, especially to the Northwest, photography, and later in life he developed the hobby of carving wooden caricatures that he loved to give as gifts.
He is survived by his daughter, Sharon Kellerhouse; and two cousins, Diane Lind (Martin), and Diane Vester.
Interment will be November 20th, 2024 at Chasm Falls Methodist Cemetery in Malone, New York.
Contributions in Richard's honor may be made to Amity Hospice in Dallas, Texas or First Presbyterian Church Longview, Texas.
