Richard F. Loughry's Obituary
Passed away Sept. 28, 2010, to be with the Lord. He was preceded to heaven by his wife of 48 years, Charlene in 1993. Dick is survived by his wife, Janice, his children, Richard Jr. and wife, Lynne (Carrollton, Texas), Kimberly and her husband, Pat Sawyer (Pensacola, Florida), Sharon K. Simon (West Hills, California), stepchildren, Lynn Sparacello and her husband, Joe (Helotes, Texas), Paula Blackall and her husband, John (Lewisville, Texas) Phil Robertson and his wife, Pam (Shady Shores, Texas), Boni Baver (Mesquite,Texas). He leaves five grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, two brothers, Darrell Loughry and his wife, Phyllis (Greencastle PA), Everett Loughry and his wife, Charlotte (Hanover, Pennsylvania) and many nieces and nephews. Dick served in the Army from 1943 to 1961, seeing action in Europe where he earned a Silver Star and Purple Heart and Korea where he earned a Bronze Star for Valor and two Oak Leaf Clusters. He was a member of VFW Post 8627, Richardson Masonic Lodge 1214, Dallas Scottish Rite, and Hella Shrine Temple. Viewing will be at Restland Memorial Park, Thursday, September 30th from 6-8pm, with services to be held at Community Christian Church, Richardson, Texas at 11am on Friday, October 1st with internment at DFW National Cemetery, Dallas. In lieu of flowers, family requests that donations be made to Community Christian Church.
