Richard Mark Patterson's Obituary
Richard Mark Patterson passed away from a prolonged battle with cancer at Hospice of East Texas on March 24 at the age of 66.Mark was an only child and is predeceased by his mother and father, Grace Hayward Gore and P.K. Patterson.Mark is survived by his loving wife, Darla White Patterson, of 18 years, . They were married in Lindale on August 24. 2000.Mark is lovingly remembered by his three children Christan Patterson, David Patterson and Brady Patterson all of whom currently reside in Texas. His stepchildren include Kenda Cluff of Massachusetts and Kyle Schoonover of New Mexico. Mark also enjoyed his 11 grandchildren Landon Cluff, Wren Cluff, Elyn Cluff and Sage Cluff of Massachusetts; Kannon Schoonover, Travis Schoonover and Sammy Schoonover of New Mexico; Dillon Patterson, Katlyn Patterson, Kaci White and Dustin White of Texas. Great grandchildren include Kayson Patterson, Gracelynn Patterson, Austin Patterson and Evalynn Patterson of Texas.Mark was born in Dallas, Texas on February 13, 1953. He graduated from Kimble High School in 1971 and went on to earn an Associates degree from Howard Payne College in 1976. He worked as a bus driver for the Lindale Independent School District for 8 years.Mark’s favorite hobby was working in his garden but he also had fun barbequing on the grill for large groups of friends and family, fishing, and treasure hunting with his metal detector.The first visitation will be held at Christ Central Church, 12465 FM 16 East, Lindale, TX 75771 on Saturday, March 30 from 10:30 – 12noon. Following will be a luncheon starting at 12:00 and all are invited.A Celebration of Life service will be held at Christ Central Church, 12465 FM 16 East, Lindale, TX 75771 on Saturday, March 30 from 1:30 – 3:00.A second visitation will be held at Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX on Sunday, March 31 from 12noon – 6:00.A graveside service will be held at Restland Cemetery on Monday, April 1 at 10:30am.Flowers and plants are welcome or, if you prefer, memorial donations may be made to the Hospice of East Texas, 4111 University Drive, Tyler, TX.
