Pierce, Richard Reid, was born on April 9, 1923 in Dallas, Texas and passed away on July 23, 2010 in Dallas, Texas, after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s. Richard served in the Navy during World War II and graduated from Oklahoma University. He was a 38-year employee of IBM. Preceded in death by Betty Jean Simpson Pierce. Richard is survived by his wife, Patricia Pierce; daughter, Janet Ann Miegel; son, Richard R. Pierce, Jr.; step-daughter, Lynn Lindley; step-son, John G. Nichols; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
