Richard Allen Rennick's Obituary
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Richard Allen Rennick on December 23, 2024, in Dallas, Texas—a man whose gentle compassion and kind gestures touched the hearts of all who knew him. Born on March 19, 1954, in Beaumont, Texas, to Louis and Rita Rennick, Richard embodied the true spirit of generosity and hard work.
Growing up in Lumberton, TX, Richard played football and participated in track at Lumberton High School. To this day, Richard still holds records in track at his high school that remain unbroken. After High School, he attended Lamar University before proudly graduating from the University of Houston.
After graduating, Richard dedicated his entire 39-year career to USG Corporation. His unwavering commitment and work ethic earned him the admiration of his coworkers, who often described him as one of the hardest workers they had ever known.
Richard's dedication extended beyond his professional life; he was a devoted family man who, alongside his wife Prim, loved nothing more than to spend time with his 7 children and 7 grandchildren.
Upon retirement, Richard and Prim moved to Crystal Beach, where he embraced new roles with enthusiasm. He excelled at his lifelong hobby of gardening and enjoyed being a gracious host. His culinary skills, particularly his famous ribs, homemade pickles, burgers, and steaks, drew friends, family, and colleagues from far and wide for memorable beach weekends.
Richard's servant-hearted nature and hard work were evident in every aspect of his life. He was a rock and a constant in his family‘s life. He kept his family organized and on time with his well orchestrated logistics. He always pushed his loved ones to be the best versions of themselves, often reminding them to "give this much more" to achieve greatness. His colloquialisms and wisdom will be cherished and repeated for generations to come.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Rita Rennick.
He is survived by his wife, Mary "Prim" Rennick; his daughter, Amanda Rennick Wolf (Thomas Wolf) and grandchildren Ethan, Everett, and Ellis; his son Jarod Rennick (Lauren Rennick) and grandchildren Owen, and Rylie; his son, John Hiller (Mary Taylor Hiller) and grandchild, Mary Margot; his son, Treavor Rennick; his son, Matt Hiller (Lauren Leonard); his daughter, Molly Hiller Garza (Geoffrey Garza); and his son, Connor Rennick (Libby Rennick) and grandchild, Elizabeth Lyle.
