Richard Fredrick Stone's Obituary
STONE, FRED “Fred” as known by many, was born June 9, 1937 in Webb City, Mo. Died on November 2, 2013 Dallas, TX. He is survived by wife, Beverly , son, Alex. Other Surviving relatives include: Steven H. Clay (brother), Marsha Clay,(sister in-law); Lee Clay (nephew), his wife, Aimee, and daughter, Jaida; Lacy Leggit(niece) and her husband, Jeffery Leggit; son, William, and daughters, Anna Lee, and Caroline. Fred graduated from Woodrow Wilson H. S. in 1955. He then earned a Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering from The University of Texas in 1959. Fred then entered the Officer Canidate program in Quantico, Va. in Hopes of being an Officer of the U.S.M.C. Reserve. Having been Honorably discharged due to Medical issues, he pursued a career with the City of Dallas Water department where he worked for thirty years. In retirement, he kept himself busy at his church’s woodwork shop by making wooden toys for indigent children. He was also an avid reader of Mysteries and Biographies. He was a lifelong lover of Classical music and had acquired en extensive collection of recordings which he enjoyed frequently. His presence in his home and our lives will be missed but we have many memories to reflect upon. Peace be with You and Your families. Family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM on Monday, November 11, 2013 at Restland Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at Northway Christian Church.
