Richard Anthony Tesauro's Obituary
Richard Anthony Tesauro
June 13, 1943 – August 4, 2025
Richard Anthony Tesauro of Dallas, Texas was born in Detroit, Michigan to Clement Samuel Tesauro and Lilian Emma Tesauro (née Marble) on June 13th, 1943 – one of 5 children in the family. He passed away on August 4th, 2025 in Dallas, Texas at Presbyterian Hospital after a brief hospitalization for illness.
Richard married June Mary Conger on November 21, 1964 in Detroit, Michigan.
He is survived by his wife June, his sons Mark, Thomas and Matthew and daughter Amy Mandt (née Tesauro) and 6 grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings Samuel, Jacqueline, Nancy and Kenneth and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Faith always remained an integral part of Richard’s life from youth through the end of his time on this earth. Raised in the Lutheran Church he saw that his children were also. He filled many key volunteer roles in congregations he attended in Michigan, Georgia and Texas from directing fundraising to Treasurer and Deacon. He also frequently volunteered his management consulting talents to churches and charities of faith – most notably The Lutheran Foundation of Texas.
Richard (“Dick” to friends) had a life-long interest in sports of all sorts – especially team sports. At the time of his passing, he still had his treasured football letter jacket from high school and all the memories of playing football at Wayne State University – where he earned both his BSBA and MBA degrees. Richard gained experience while advancing to senior line and staff management roles at General Motors and Bundy Corporation in Michigan, prior to entering into a management consulting role at Ernst and Ernst which prompted a family move from Rochester, Michigan to Marietta, Georgia. He earned a partnership during business mergers that eventually formed Ernst and Young while initiating and building Ernst & Young regional consulting practices in the Southeast and – after a move to Dallas – the Southwest.
In Dallas, Richard went on to found Tesauro Management Counselors, Inc. (TMC) in 1991 to serve fast growth and mid-size organizations. Until his retirement, his passions remained Trusted Business Advisory and project consulting assistance focused on strategy, organization and people to help organization and individuals achieve their full potential for growth, profitability and value creation. During the later years of his career, he also focused attention in a mentor role, allowing many others to benefit from his years of experience.
Richard and his wife loved to visit family, staying in touch as the “Texas Tesauros” with his family in Michigan during family reunions and his very good friends Tom (his fraternity brother at Wayne State) and Toni Carter on several memorable trips in the US and abroad, including many family vacation trips together with the Tesauro and Carter children. Both the Tesauros and Carters added daughters to their families through adoption (Amy and Kris) and the children refer to their parents’ good friends as Aunt and Uncle – even to this day. Richard and June also set out on many summer road trips across the nation with their children that remain cherished memories for all. Later in life they enjoyed visiting their grandchildren frequently in Dallas, New Braunfels, Tennessee, Oregon and once in Germany. He treasured memories of holidays and summer family reunions with his children and the grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to join a memorial service honoring Richard’s life at 10AM Central Time on August 15th 2025 at Zion Lutheran Church in Dallas, TX.
