Richard Vu Le's Obituary
RICHARD VU LE, 45 Richard Vu Le was called home to the Lord on December 3, 2014 at the age of 45. He was born on December 22, 1968 in Saigon, Viet Nam to Rock Ky Le and Suzanne Thuy Nguyen. Richard grew up in Houston, Texas, and graduated from Jersey Village High School in 1987. He then attended Texas A&M University where he received a bachelor’s degree in computer science. He worked for Loral Corporation in Houston as a computer science engineer. He subsequently earned a Masters in Business Administration degree from UT Dallas while working for Nortel Networks as a project manager. He found his professional calling as a technical sales engineer when he joined Tekelec, Incorporated, where he earned numerous President’s Awards and distinctions. In 1995, Richard met Kimberly Nguyen, and their lives were joined together in 2003 at Our Mother of Perpetual Help Parish in Garland, Texas. Richard and Kim were blessed with two children, Milan and Lucas. Richard loved his wife and children with all his heart. Richard enjoyed golf, basketball, and playing poker with his friends. Richard was a beloved husband and father. He was a respected colleague to many, and a true friend to all. In 2010, Richard was diagnosed with ALS. Richard fought hard for his family for over 4 years until he passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home in Garland, Texas. Richard is survived by his wife, Kimberly Nguyen; his daughter, Milan Olivia Le; his son, Lucas Jordan Le; his mother, Suzanne Thuy Nguyen; his father, Rock Ky Le; his sister, Tracy Trang Le, her husband and two children, and his brother, Brian Dung Le, his wife and 3 children. Visitation for Richard Le will be held at Restland Funeral Home at 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243 on Friday, December 5th from 1:00pm to 8:00pm, with a Catholic mass and Prayer of the Rosary at 4:30pm. (www.RestlandFuneralHome.com). The funeral service for Richard Le will be held at Our Mother of Perpetual Help Parish at 2121 West Apollo Road, Garland, TX 75044 on Saturday, December 6th at 10:00am. A reception will follow at the church’s reception hall, where friends and family will be welcomed to share stories about Richard. Richard will be cremated in a private ceremony for immediate family. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to ALS-TDI (http://www.alstdi.org), a non-profit organization focused on finding a cure for ALS.
